Training and Development
We believe that employees are most successful and content in their jobs when they are provided with the proper tools and resources to be effective and to achieve a sense of accomplishment. Achen-Gardner Construction is fully invested in developing talent company-wide. Many opportunities exist for employees aimed at learning a new trade, enhancing job knowledge and/or developing new skills.
We are a proud and active sponsor of the Apprenticeship Program provided through the Arizona Chapter of Associated General Contractors. Achen-Gardner Construction sponsors employees throughout a three-year program in Heavy Equipment Operation. Most recently, our own Doby “Joe” Snedigar was named 2009 Apprentice of the Year in the Heavy Equipment Operator category for the state of Arizona.
We believe in providing positive internship experiences for students interested in construction. We ensure that interns gain meaningful exposure to the industry and come away with an increased awareness of the diverse career opportunities available to them. Students are provided with challenging and practical “real world” experience both in the office and out in the field. The terms and conditions of each student’s internship are developed at the beginning of the sponsorship and availability is based on the company’s ability to sponsor at the time the request is made. At Achen-Gardner Construction, we are proud to invest in building the next generation of construction employees.
