Wilmot Road and Interstate 10 Manhole Rehabilitation

Project Owner: Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department
Project Type: Design-Bid-Build
Construction Dates: 11/13 to 08/14

This project consisted of the total or partial rehabilitation of 100 existing manhole structures within the Southeast Interceptor System in Pima County. All 100 manholes were evaluated and rated based on the National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) scoring system and their condition was detailed in a Manhole Condition Assessment Report (MCAR). The work consisted of supplying all equipment, materials, and labor necessary to rehabilitate/repair the manholes that have been selected from the MCAR. The rehabilitation work required for each of the manholes within this project consisted of: 1) rehabilitation of the manhole by an initial thorough cleaning using sand blasting and the application of a RWRD approved coating material, or 2) replacement of the concrete collar and the cast iron frame and cover or the replacement of these items on an individual basis.
