Deer Valley Road & 67th Avenue Waterline Improvements

Project Owner: City of Glendale
Delivery Method: Construction Manager at Risk
Construction Dates: 03/15 to 02/16

This project included the installation of 615 LF of new 42", 30", 24", and 12" waterlines, three new valves, and six temporary line stops in the Deer Valley Road and 67th Avenue intersection. Achen-Gardner replaced two large diameter (30" and 36") gate valves with two new 36" gate valves and installed one new 42" butterfly valve inside of a precast manhole for future system flow control. After completing the wet utility infrastructure improvements the entire intersection was milled and overlayed with new asphalt. As part of the preconstruction phase, Achen-Gardner performed exploratory excavations in the area of the two tie-ins and other locations to develop/refine the scope of services.
