Water, Wastewater, Pipeline, Utility, and Infrastructure
Project Owner: City of Tolleson
Project Type: Job Order Contract
Construction Dates: 11/23 to 9/26
This wet infrastructure JOC includes water, sewer, reclaimed water, and storm drain pipeline construction in the City of Tolleson.
JO #1: This project quickly repaired a water line in a residential area. Achen-Gardner removed and replaced 50 LF of waterline in an alley, and repaired three service lines. We coordinated with homeowners to avoid any inconvenience during service shutdowns.
JO #2: We installed more than 2,500 LF of 18” to 24” storm drain along 96th Avenue, from Van Buren Street to Roosevelt Street. This work also included eight new 48” manholes, catch basins, grading, paving, and other miscellaneous improvements. We also realigned 100 LF of new 8” water line to make way for the incoming storm drain. This took place at three intersections along 96th Avenue: Roosevelt Drive, Baden Street, and Garfield Street.
JO #3: Our crews relocated 160 LF of 12” water line and a meter along the south side of I-10, west of the 91st Avenue on-ramp. The existing water line, which was located within ADOT right of way, was abandoned and the new water line was installed within the City of Tolleson right of way to make way for future ADOT development. This project required collaboration with ADOT, the City, and local businesses.
