Underground Infrastructure JOC

Project Owner: City of Goodyear
Delivery Method: Job Order Contracting
Construction Dates: 06/25 to 06/30

This JOC is being completed as part of a cooperative purchasing agreement. Scope includes water and sewer infrastructure improvements in public right of way throughout the City of Goodyear. Job orders have included:

  • Facilities Leak Detection: We supported a proactive effort to identify leaking water transmission mains by deploying 40 FIDO AI LeakLocate sensors. These advanced leak detection sensors use acoustic data and artificial intelligence to detect sound patterns that may indicate leaks in the pipeline. Through the FIDOSmart app, field data can be uploaded, reviewed, and visualized to help determine whether a pipeline segment shows signs of leakage. The technology identified several possible leaks during field investigation, allowing Achen-Gardner and the City to continue narrowing locations and prioritizing next steps.

  • Del Camino Lift Station, Force Main, and Sewer Relocation: Achen-Gardner enlisted the services of a design engineer on our contract for this design-build job order. The project involves relocating an existing sewer line running through the Country Aire Apartments complex to a new alignment along Via Villa Street. The scope of this project involves installing more than 100 LF of 6” HDPE force main, 480 LF of 8” PVC gravity sewer main and two manholes. We are also replacing two lift station pumps, relocating waterlines within the new sewer alignment, and installing a new access gate in an existing CMU wall at the lift station. We are utilizing one bypass setup to manage flows starting at 315 GPM in support of this work.
